Lemon is nonverbal and has had a talker since she was 3 years old. She also uses picture cards and understands some signs.
We don't know if Lemon will ever speak again and it doesn't matter. It is important that we support her in finding her own voice and that we offer her all means of communication.

A simple moment that made the world stop

I arrived home on friday, i did not see my daughter, Lemon, for 14 days. I was full of joy to see her and I missed her so much. But i knew that i had to follow the ritual, she is autistic, and I have to be careful.

I usually have to come, say hello, and wait until I can make contact. It includes many things, one of them is having to clap hands in line with the mother, you have to see to understand it, but we know that Lemon needs this to control the situation.

But this time, this time was different. Lemon pushed me to the bedroom and gave me a hug. I was not expecting this, she never did it, tears of joy ran through my eyes, and I laughed. To complete this crazy good moment, Lemon gave me two kisses. You think it is something said in movies or written in stories, but I really felt the time stopped. And I felt so much joy. without worries or problems. For a moment…
